An Invitation to Women Bible Teachers

This article was first published in French at TPSG.

Do you have a passion for God’s Word? Do you exercise a teaching ministry among the women and/or children in your church? Do you wish you could get more training to carry out that ministry? If so, this invitation is for you.

The Charles Simeon Trust is an organization whose mission is to train the next generation of Bible expositors. Founded by David Helm, the author of the 9Marks book on Expository Preaching, the CST pursues this mission through online courses, workshops, and a residential program for preachers/teachers.

What makes CST workshops unique is that they are highly interactive. Each workshop covers a book of the Bible chosen from a specific literary genre. Before the workshop begins, participants are assigned a passage that they will need to study. So, along with times of live instruction by highly competent Bible teachers over Zoom, there are also small group discussions in which we present the work we have prepared on our passage. This kind of peer review is a key component in helping us make progress in our Word work.

Over the past two years, we have had the privilege of welcoming French-speaking women to attend CST’s women’s workshops, thanks to the aid of translators and small group discussions in French. This year, we are hoping even more women will cease this opportunity to get better equipped for the ministry the Lord has called them to.

These are the dates and genres for the upcoming workshops:
1. March 18-20, 2021 - Teaching Wisdom Literature (Job in small groups)
2. April 22-24, 2021 - Teaching Apocalyptic Literature (Daniel in small groups)
3. May 13-15, 2021 - Teaching Narrative (Acts in small groups)

And, in case CST isn’t an entity you are familiar with, here are some endorsements from names that might be:

"The ministry of the Charles Simeon Trust not only helps beginning preachers to handle the Word of God faithfully and tellingly, but provides invaluable resources for more experienced preachers, too. Most preachers would benefit hugely from the Workshops organized by the Trust."
D.A. Carson
(retired) Research Professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School

"The Charles Simeon Trust, modelled on The Proclamation Trust in the UK, has been doing excellent work equipping Christians in understanding and teaching the Bible. I happily commend and promote their Workshops, and regularly have occasion to encourage people to attend them."
Mark Dever
Senior Pastor, Capitol Hill Baptist Church
